L2 Fine Art Mounting and Framing is one of the premier fine-art mounting, laminating and framing companies in the country. We have extensive experience in gallery and exhibition work, and we’ve worked with many of the greatest photographers of the world, spanning generations, and including Avedon, Sally Mann, Vic Muniz, David LaChapelle, Ralph Gibson, Frances Scavullo, and many many others. We use the finest possible materials, and combine them with old-fashioned craftsmanship, reasonable pricing, and 100% integrity. Photos generally have to be mounted in order to be exhibited, to keep them from “buckling”. Once they are mounted, you have a choice of adding a frame or keeping the image “frameless”. The most popular exhibition mounting materials are Sintra, Aluminum, Dibond and Plexiglas.
We’re also hand-finishing frames, using custom hard-wood profiles as well as stock profiles from an extensive inventory. Our line of hand-crafted frames incorporates unique finishing options, including stains, rubs, paints, and lacquers.
Our materials are all archival to museum standards. Our work is second to none, and our aim is to make sure you’re completely satisfied with the process and the product. In every way, our approach is collaborative. We’ll sample jobs fully, and we’ll work with you in every way, on specifications, turnaround, and of course, price. You can also count on us for messengering, crating and shipping throughout the world.
All the processes for mounting fine-art photos described below apply to Chromagenic prints (analog and digital C Prints), as well as giclee or pigment or digital inkjet prints. Certain papers and inks and printers may have special properties; please speak with our customer service representatives if you have unusual papers or ink delivery methods. We are happy to test and sample any materials you may have.
